Iran Condemns US Strikes
During a phone conversation, the two officials discussed the latest regional developments following American strikes on Iranian sites, the ministry said in its statement.
Araghchi denounced the US actions as “a clear violation” of the UN Charter and international law. He stressed that the attacks had weakened the ceasefire and cautioned that the United States would bear responsibility for any “dangerous” consequences resulting from the escalation.
He also criticized what he described as the silence of UN member states, warning that continued inaction would contribute to worsening insecurity both regionally and globally.
Iranian outlets earlier reported explosions, air defense activity, and airstrikes across southern Iran, including in Bandar Abbas, Minab, Jask, Qeshm, and Sirik.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that American forces had carried out additional “self-defense” strikes against multiple targets inside Iran.
This exchange underscores the fragile state of the ceasefire and the risk of further escalation if diplomatic efforts fail.
