Trump Announces Iran Deal Set for Signing, Claims Hormuz Will Reopen

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that an agreement with Iran is scheduled to be signed on Sunday, adding that the Strait of Hormuz would be “open to all” immediately after the signing.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote, “The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL.”

Earlier the same day, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said a deal could be finalized within the next 24 hours. Pakistan has been involved in mediation efforts since April, when it helped broker a ceasefire in the US–Israeli conflict involving Iran. Sharif also said, “Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week.”

Trump described the agreement as a “wall to a nuclear weapon,” claiming it would prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear arms through any means, including purchase or development.

He also asserted that Iran no longer seeks nuclear weapons and said the relationship between Washington and Tehran is now “a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had.” He added that “no money will exchange hands” as part of the agreement.
