Iran Says US MoU Signing Not on Sunday, Possible in Coming Days
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the timing of the agreement remains uncertain, emphasizing that while immediate signing is not expected, it has not been ruled out in the coming days.
“We will have to wait and see about the exact time of signing the memorandum; although it will not be tomorrow, the possibility of this happening in the coming days cannot be ruled out,” Baghaei said, according to reports.
He added that Iran is proceeding with caution, pointing to what he described as inconsistent messaging from Washington regarding the process.
Baghaei also said the Iranian negotiating team has no scheduled travel to Geneva or other locations in the next two days, stressing that discussions over timing are still ongoing.
“Our negotiating team has no plans to travel to Geneva or anywhere else in the next two days,” he said. “We have to wait and see when will be the exact signing date.”
According to Iranian media reports, officials believe there remains a strong possibility that the memorandum could still be concluded in the coming days, although no final schedule has been confirmed.
